Parks, Trails, Trees, and Open Space Committee

The Heber City Council has recently passed an ordinance to create a new Open Space and Trails committee to advise the council about open space and trails issues.  Details about the committees function can be found in section 2.47 of the Municipal Code.

Historic Preservation Committee

We are also seeking applicants for the Historic Preservation commission.  This board consists of five members with a demonstrated interest, competence, or knowledge in historic preservation.  The day and time of their monthly meeting is to be determined.  Guidelines are available in Heber City Municipal Code 2.50.

Airport Advisory Board

The Airport Advisory Board reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on a variety of airport issues. The board meets at the City Administrative Offices at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. Airport Board members serve four-year terms. Voting membership is comprised of three permanent Heber City residents and two at-large Wasatch County residents.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding land use issues such as the City General Plan, zoning, and subdivisions, and decisions on commercial or industrial developments and conditional uses. The commission consists of seven voting members plus two alternates and meets at the City Administrative Offices on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 6 p.m. The term of office for a Planning Commission member is six years; alternates serve two-year terms. Members must be residents of Heber City.
