Section 18.08.220 Floor Area.

The floor area of a building is the sum of the areas of the several floors of the building, including basements, mezzanines, and penthouses, of headroom height, measured from the exterior walls or from the centerline of walls separating buildings. The floor area does not include unoccupied features such as pipe trenches, exterior terraces, or steps, chimneys, roof overhangs, etc. (Ord. 199 §02.0522, 1973)
