Robert was born in beautiful Heber Valley, living a carefree and exciting life alongside his family and friends. His family were some of the original settlers of the valley. Robert was educated in the Wasatch School District and graduated from Wasatch High School. While attending school he developed a love for music, art, history, geography and sports. After high school Robert attended Brigham Young University. During his freshman year, he was called to serve a mission for the LDS Church in Brazil. While attending BYU on his return home, he met his sweetheart, Marie, and they have enjoyed 29 wonderful years together living the ups and downs of life. Robert and Marie started life together in Midway, Utah, and built a home in Heber City three years later. They are the grateful parents of Matthew, Douglas, Michael, Nicole, and Jeffrey. They also have two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren. Robert received his education from LDS Business College, BYU, and University of Utah. He has degrees in accounting and education. His great informal education was spent reading encyclopedias, almanacs, geography and travel books, Sports Illustrated, and being a news and political junkie! Robert has enjoyed being a teacher in the Wasatch School District for almost 24 years. He loves the students of the valley. In 2006, Robert was asked to serve on the Heber City Planning Commission. He has enjoyed this appointment and working with the entire planning staff. As a newly elected council member, Robert is looking forward to serving on Heber City's Planning Commission, Grievance Board, Historic Preservation Committee, and WAEDA. He is also excited to work and get acquainted with all city employees and staff. Robert is excited and honored to be serving all the great residents and friends of Heber City, and thank you for supporting him in his new position.
